Bouncing Back

The little things . . .

Making big changes can be daunting and overwhelming. Back In Skinny Jeans has a post called Two Tiny Changes Tuesdays.

I feel like I should say something like “and here are the two tiny changes I am going to make”. But I am drawing a blank. I’m sure I’ll come up with something.

Update: I decided that my first little thing would be to add 1 extra serving of vegs to my diet a diet this week.  (it’s a start . . .) That will mean I have 3 servings a day.  Then in a week or two I will add another serving.



Rough Start

Hopefully, my breakfast is not a sign of the rest of my day . . .it has been a rough start, no time for breakfast so I stopped at the local donut shop, then some woman was in front of the donut case with the cake donuts filling a box and occasionally just standing and staring. So I got a glazed twist. It was yummy. There are no glazed twists in Complete Food Companion so I am going to call it the same as 1.5 glazed 4″ diameters. 9 Points! Holy Monkeys! I am going to be up late on the treadmill tonight!

Breakfast: Donut, sigh. -9 (15)
Lunch: WW Smart Ones Broccoli & Cheddar Roasted Potatoes (yum!), banana, kashi bar. -7 (8)
Snack: Cheese & Crackers, 100 cal hostess pack -4 (4)
Dinner: This was bad, very bad, little caesar’s baby pan pan & breadsticks -25 (-21)
Snack: and then it got worse, A Snickers Bar -5 (a guess, my slider is in the cold car) (-26)

Well then, I have a whopping 9 flex points left this week, make that 6 looks like I used 3 on Monday night. Hot diggity dog!  I am not looking forward to the number on the scale tomorrow morning.

Also I did not work out yet tonight and I don’t plan to. Tomorrow will be significantly better.

What a Tuesday

So my morning started out with some serious anxiety. I knew I was ready for it but jury trials are an anxious sort of thing. I had a good breakfast, put the kid on the bus and headed out.

The charges were dismissed, last week. I got NO notice. So I ate a WW Smart One for lunch (did not like it). Am still on plan.

Stupid trial even messed up last night’s workout as I got distracted and couldn’t finish.

I will be putting in a good work out tonight.

Finally, the scale said that I lost 10 pounds! Yippeee! So my new goal is to (1) maintain that loss and (2) lose the next 5!

Yesterday I finally found some 1 point crackers! They are pretty tasty. But the grocery store I went to did not have any Fiber1 Bars! Not even an empty spot for them on the shelf!

I have a jury trial tomorrow morning. I am going to have to pack a snack and hope for a break to eat it in. I will then have to go back to the office without stopping at Wendy’s. It is a half-day trial. If we get out too close to lunch I may have to have some Subway while we wait for the jury.

Breakfast: 1/2 PB Sandwich + Banana-4 (20)
Snack: 100 Calorie Ch. Cupcakes -1 (19)
Lunch: Creamy Rigatoni with Broccoli & Chicken -6 (13)

New Morning, New Week, New Attitude

Yesterday, I kept track of nothing; I ate more than I should have; I ended up with an agitated stomach. but I work up this morning ready to start again. Tonight I have a Book Club meeting so I will have to get my exercise in early today.

I am going to lose that next 1.5 pounds this week. I will.

WW Smart Ones Chicken Parmesan: Grade B
For 5 points, this was a decent lunch. There was quite a bit of pasta and quite a bit of marinara sauce. The chicken was a good size and was mostly good. It did have a tough spot or two, but was really pretty decent. I did have to cut the chicken with a knife so I don’t think I’d use the word tender but neither was it really tough. The marinara was nothing exciting but was most certainly plentiful. The pasta was thick and plentiful. I could also really taste the touch of cheese & I LOVE cheese. Love it! Definitely something I think I will add to my weekly lunch routine.

I don’t understand my weigh-in this morning was the same as last week! The same!  I have been good all week! My first thought was well, technically, I started my week last Sunday . . . so maybe that should be the weigh-in day.

Big Sigh.

Maybe I need to work harder on vegs and exercise.

A Good Morning

This was a good morning, I am done to 9.5 lost! Actually, I was down to 10.5 but then I didn’t believe it so I weighed myself again twice and it said only 9.5 – which I am still pleased with! Also a pair of pants that I couldn’t wear a few weeks ago and which were snug last week are a good fit this morning! I think I am going to try to take some weekly pictures because I don’t see the missing 9.5 pounds and aside from these pants, I don’t feel it either. I’d like to be able to mark my progress in other ways too – other than the number on the scale.

This afternoon I am making the long ride to the bridge & back to pick up my brother & his friend. I am planning to have Subway for dinner. I think that the turkey sub with light or no mayo & a bag of baked chips should be okay. The chips are likely 4 points, the light mayo 2, the sub about 7. After my cheese snack that will put me over my daily points by 2 points, which is not bad at all. I will not be dipping further into my flex points as I have my weigh in tomorrow & am looking forward to being down again!

Confession

Ok. I have a confession to make….. I haven’t been counting points. There! I said it! I just can’t make myself do it. Some days I’ll make it through breakfast and snack but then lose interest by lunch.  Any suggestions?

 As you ladies are well aware, I have a discipline problem. I just don’t want to do it. I do think about what I’m eating and I have gotten rid of all of the junk in my house. So if I do snack it’s on carrots, pea pods, etc. Also, the chocolate craving at night has been satisfied by 1 cup coco krispies and 3/4 cup 1% milk (3.5).  That is better then the microwaveable brownie I was eating at night.

Ultimately, even if I’m not counting the points online, I am thinking about my food intake. I also need to add the exercise back into my routine. Once the move is completed that will be an easier thing to do.

 Well that’s enough soul cleasing for one day. Anymore of that and someone may take away my bar card.
